It's VRC Oaks and Ladies day at Flemington tomorrow, on day 3 of a fantastic week of racing. Hopefully there were some lucky punters that backed Robbie Dolan and Knight's Choice in Tuesday's Cup or jagged a nice exotic! Great guy Robbie and kudos to him for the ride, he nailed it on the big stage!

FLEMINGTON

TRACK - Good 4 and the rail goes out to 5m for today's meeting. I am giving advantage points to horses drawn wider for the straight races (1000-1200m) and no advantage for the races around the bend (1400m+). The staff have done a tremendous job with the track and we can expect no different tomorrow.



**SELECTIONS**

R1 - 7 CHANGING COLOURS                $2.35

On quick glance you would have to be shocked to see her this price in a race like this, having been beaten in both lead up runs, but gee they were good efforts. She looped the entire field 1st up at Bendigo over 1300m, covering a stack of ground and just failing to run down the leader, before performing similarly 2nd up and lacking the change up gears over 1400m. Keen to see her running on from the wide draw, out to 1700m on the big spacious track. 2 CALLMEANICON is absolutely flying and suited back to mares grade here, she's the value.

R2 - 1 KALLOS                                          $3.50 

What a hot race this is! Kallos was luckless in the Schillaci last start when buried on the fence at Caulfield and you could make a clear case that he would've gone close to winning.  He looks ready to peak 3rd up and his track/distance stats are exceptional (4:2-1-0).

R3 - 13 ALMA RISE                      $3.80

She's a progressive filly by Almanzor who should be nearing peak fitness here 3rd up and having her 2nd go at 2000m this preparation. She's drawn to get a lovely smothered run from barrier 5 and the tempo should be genuine enough. Adelaide visitor MOTORACE should get control from barrier 2 with his customary blinkers on and the stable rider travels down to remain aboard - I think he's a silly price but he does need to lead down the long straight for the first time, which isn't easy.

R4 - 7 MOLLYNICKERS                      $5

I think she's tracking along beautifully this preparation and the blinkers going on will attempt to keep her sharp over the mile 4th up, while potentially looking for more ground. All 3 runs this preparation have had merit and she's smashed through the line on each occasion. Drawn beautifully in 4 to get a nice run in transit, keeping her legs fresh to explode late.

R5 - 8 VERDAD                                     $2.80

He's been a punters nightmare this preparation having had four 2nd placings from his four starts but you do find it hard to knock his effort in each of those races. He had to carry 62kgs around the tight Moonee Valley circuit last start and should appreciate the drop down to 56kg here. Jmac going aboard suits this horse who can roll out of the gates and sit running line 2nd or 3rd pair and do his best work down the centre of the track late, which looks to suit.

R6 - 5 OH TOO GOOD                        $2.80

She's been racing in races of a higher grade to most of her rivals... and winning them, so she looks very well placed on the way to bigger and better things. Damian Lane rode her to a win 1st up and his main focus will be getting the 1st part of the race right, navigating her into a good position from a horror barrier draw. She will eat up the mile and there looks to be plenty here who won't. Barrier the only negative for mine.

R7 - 11 I FOUND YOU                           $8/2.70

She was a dominant winner of a late season 2yo race on the Kensington back in June, before being unlucky down the straight at Flemington behind Aldolfito, where I thought Blake Shinny's was a touch quiet and arrogant on her, proving costly. She's trialled like a jet leading into her return and drawn wide with Frosty Lane aboard looks a huge positive. I've got her marked half the price.

R8 - 12 INEVITABLE TRUTH                          $27/6.25

I like the Wakeful lead up from Saturday and this John Sargent trained filly finished strong enough behind stablemate Powers Of Opal and Treasurethemoment. Her Dam ran 4th in the WA Oaks and is also the dam of G1 Derby winner Angel Of Truth so she has the pedigree to run a strong 2500m. She needs to find a few lengths to beat the two mentioned above but change up speed might not come into play tomorrow as much as stamina and endurance. At the odds, she can looks a hope in an open Oaks. I just love the each way price here.

R9 - 7 CADMUS                        $13/3.20

He was very good over the same trip (1600m) 1st up last preparation in what I thought was a hot BM84 at Mornington. The top 3 there put lengths on the remainder of the field and the dry deck tomorrow looks a big positive. He raced well all preparation last time in work but he only saw a dry deck once and he won well.

We have lightly raced 4yo galloper PERIGEAN, by champion stallion Extreme Choice preparing for his 1st up assignment next Friday as he looks to gain a valuable win on his quest to take on the lucrative Tab Highway system at Randwick and Rosehill.



He had a super jump out on the home track last week and the Seib Racing team will again assess his gps data out of his Saturday morning track gallop before deciding whether to trial at Rosehill on Thursday, boosting fitness levels for another assignment or head straight to the races on Friday. He is certainly on track to be cherry ripe when he does get to the track!
