RANDWICK

TRACK - Rated a Good 4 and we will be on a fast firm deck, with no rain on the radar. The rail was out 6m on this track a fortnight ago with horses finding it hard to make up ground. The rail comes back to true here and will lead us in to a very fair day. All horses will get their chance tomorrow with the races dictated by tempo and luck in running.

BEST BET - R8 #6 FANGIRL $2
Beaten by Via Sistina and Zougtocha fresh in the Apollo Stakes when travelling wide and having to sustain a long run home. She was the run of the race for mine, finds a much smaller field which still has genuine tempo in the race, allowing her to find a comfortable trailing position and fly over the top late. Dry deck, out to the mile, Randwick, true rail - best of the day for mine.

VALUE BET - R9 #2 AFT CABIN $11/2.90 1x3
I thought he was trialing in career best form and ready to explode fresh in the Concorde Stakes a fortnight ago but unfortunately for connections, he never saw clear air and didn't get a crack at them. All 3 placegetters out of that race sat fence in run. Winner I Am Me (2nd behind leader), second placegetter Bella Nipotina (3rd the fence behind winner in run), and 3rd placegetter Way To The Stars led the race and got the gap at the ideal time. We go back to a true rail here, a little bit of added tempo up front joins the party with Lady Of Camelot and Coal Crusher in the field here, which leads me to believe horses running on are well suited. Double the price this week, hopefully he can put his hand up for the Everest in the blue slot.

CAULFIELD

TRACK - Rated a good 4 with no rain predicted today. The rail is out 6m and I expect every horse to get their chance. Playing with an open mind and giving no map position an advantage prior to raceday. 



BEST BET - R8 #2 PERICLES $3.30
This race has been the target for this horse, since the start of the preparation and he has been outstanding in his lead up performances. 3rd behind subsequent Group 1 Memsie winner Pinstriped 1st up before bolting in at the Valley in a race he was expected to win. With a lack of speed drawn inside, I can see him roll forward and find a position in the running line 3rd or 4th pair back and he is going well enough to be hard to beat here. 
 
VALUE BET - R4 #5 SAKIMA $11/2.80 1x3
I really liked the way this 3yo filly hit the line at the Valley last start despite being held up at a key stage in the home straight. She seems to have responded well to the move down to Melbourne, after tackling some strong races in Sydney. Rock hard fit and step up to 1400m looks to suit.

Eye catching debut at Wyong when running home strongly from the rear. She did have the 6th fastest 4-200m sectional of the meeting there and I love him going from the tight turning Wyong to the bigger spacious Newcastle track and out a further 150m.

R8 #4 RESTONICA $3.20
Lightly raced 4yo with 1 win and 3 placings from 6 starts and I think his two trials this time in have been outstanding. He won the latest under a very tight hold and has drawn perfectly in barrier 3 to get a nice run and be strong late.

**GOLD COAST**

Rock hard fit now and I really like the Rosehill formline he comes out of behind Matusalem and Monarchs Brae, especially for a race like this when drawn barrier 1.


JJJ RACING RUNNERS

SUNRISE - Sunday R5 $2.50

Our 3yo Filly from NZ has pleased the team since arriving and should be at peak fitness in a really suitable race Sunday, 3rd up in the preparation. She was luckless in her Australian debut when everything went wrong at Hawkesbury, but she returned to the track 2nd up, hitting the line well to run 3rd. She drops in grade here but does take on a few handy country gallopers who won their recent start by a few lengths. She looks well placed and we are heading to Nowra with a horse in excellent order. If she races to her best, she will be hard to beat.
